Dr. Paul Giles  

Dr Paul Giles

Paul Giles is a general Ophthalmologist working with Eye Clinic Albury Wodonga providing general ophthalmology services to Albury Wodonga and surrounds.

Dr Giles completed his undergraduate medical training at Monash University in 1992 and subsequently spent time at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne and the Anatomy School at Monash University. In 1995 Dr Giles was awarded the Cedric Cohen prize for excellence in the basic science examinations in Ophthalmology and was subsequently admitted to the Ophthalmology Specialist Training Program based at the Eye and Ear Hospital.

After basic ophthalmology training, Dr Giles completed further general ophthalmology training in Taunton, England. Training included cataract surgery, oculoplastic surgery and glaucoma.

Dr Giles returned to Australia in 2000 and began work at the Albury Eye Clinic where he continues to practise in the field of general ophthalmology with interests in cataract surgery, oculoplastics and glaucoma. Along with the rest of the doctors at Eye Clinic Albury Wodonga, Dr Giles continues to support the public system as well as the Registrar training program and medical student teaching.

Dr. Alan Luckie  

Dr Alan Luckie

Alan Luckie moved to Australia from New Zealand in 1985, after undertaking medical school training at Otago University, Dunedin. He undertook ophthalmology training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital (RVEEH) in Melbourne. He subsequently completed Vitreoretinal fellowships at the RVEEH, Moorfields Eye Hospital in London and California Pacific Medical Centre in San Francisco.

Dr Luckie’s practice is confined to medical and surgical vitreoretinal diseases.

Dr Luckie holds an appointment as a VMO at Albury Wodonga Health.

   
Dr. Stephen Heery  

Dr Stephen Heery

Steve graduated from University in NSW in Medicine in 1983.  He subsequently did his ophthalmic training with Fred Hollows at the Prince of Wales and Prince Henry Hospitals finishing in 1991.  During his registrar training he developed expertise in the intravitreal treatment of CMV retinitis in AIDS patients and was one of the few people in Australia doing so at that time.  He also had exposure to Third World Ophthalmology and has travelled extensively throughout New South Wales, Queensland and New Guinea.  

Since 1991 he has been engaged in Private Practice in Albury/Wodonga.  He has developed extensive experience in all aspects of general ophthalmology and has also had experience with a broad range of oculoplastic and squint procedures. 

He now concentrates mainly on intravitreal treatment of macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy and the medical management of glaucoma.  He also performs a range of oculoplastic procedures including the management of small to moderate skin cancers with flaps and grafts.  

   
Dr. Tim Steele

Dr Tim Steele

Dr Steele is an eye surgeon with a special interest in cataract surgery and oculoplastic surgery. His practice takes in the broad scope of ophthalmology including glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and retinal conditions.

Tim studied medicine at Monash University in Melbourne where he graduated with Honours and received the Alfred Hospital Residents and Graduates Association prize as the highest ranking student. He completed his ophthalmology training at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne. After finishing at the Eye and Ear hospital, he undertook further fellowship training in oculoplastic surgery and cataract surgery in the United Kingdom.

Dr Steele holds an appointment as a VMO at Albury Wodonga Health.

   
Dr. David Heine

Dr David Heine

Dr Heine has practiced in the North East Victorian region and Albury for 30 years. His special interests have been cataract surgery and oculoplastic surgery; he no longer performs cataract surgery but continues with oculoplastic surgery. He is able to see general ophthalmic conditions including glaucoma and diabetic eye disease.

David studied medicine at Melbourne University and completed a Bachelor of Medical science in the Melbourne University Anatomy department (anatomy of the extra ocular muscles). He completed his ophthalmology training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Mebourne and completed an Anterior segment Fellowship in the Department of Ophthalmology at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital .

David works regular sessions on a part time basis.

Cataract, Retinal and Macular diseases and all aspects of general Ophthalmology

Dr Arnold is a member of the Macula Society (a US based international body for macular specialists) and works for The Fred Hollows Foundation. Dr Arnold is a medical retinal and macula specialist. She is one of 18 ophthalmologists, worldwide involved in the revolutionary work carried out during the past 20 years, in the diagnosis and management of Age Related macular Degeneration (AMD). Dr Arnold consults at Eyeclinic Albury Wodonga with regular monthly sessions.
